I'm all for clichés : a splendid shorthand - they're as useful as stereotypes really. But what really gets my mountain-dwelling herbivore is the misuse of a cliché. I mean, if you've heard it so often that you feel confident enough to use it on live television, maybe you could get it right?
A damp squid! One recently landed, not yet prepared for having its rings battered and deep fried?
Heart-rendering: this one has become particularly popular of late. Must be some work for builders in the recession after all, pebble-dashing all those hearts.
There are lots more, I'm sure you'll all 'get across' them rapidly if you listen carefully. I wonder how long before someone completely mangles that relatively new cliché?
Go ahead, say I'm an elitist snob.
I am and, really, I don't care.

You're an elitist snob, Ewan. We should dispose of you in one foul swoop. Best one I've seen: this is not for the light hearted.
