Ishihara

from the ABC set Lovers, Liars and Just Good Friends.

It's quite simple;
a man listening to a woman
is like the colour blind
failing the Ishihara.

The meaning is
quite hidden by the arrangement
of the gratuitous
words you are hearing.

Occasionally,
a vague pattern is perceived
-by the lucky few with some
colour perception.

Much more often
the dots remain unresolved,
because the fool is
still trying to join them.

Ah, Nouveau Ewan, j'aime la coupe de ton foc. When I parle (knit one, parle one) I think often that nobody understand me. It is because you are a teenager. You will grow out of it.

Wonderful homage to a superior intelligence. The ending is superb. Margot

Hohoho: not superior, just very different.

Definitely different - and hooray for that!

Ewan | September 4, 2009 - 07:32

Yes, I am in total agreement with you!

I sit, head-bent aknowledging the indisputable truth...as my wife twitters in the background about school..or kids...or sex...or something...

Loved the last stanza; what a wrap!

This is so beautiful and different

I loved this, the content and the style, one niggle, could you use a different word than unresolved? it's hard for a dot to be resolved or otherwise, how about 'Seperate' or 'isolated'?

Ewan | September 10, 2009 - 18:50

The pattern of the dots is unresolved. I think, since I used the plural, what I wrote is acceptable. A dot, as you say cannot be resolved... many may be resolved into a picture or even a number. Unless you know different.

resolve
