'I do not,' but did she mean words like that one, (you know the one)? Or was it words in that way?

It had been safe to say, 'I do not,' or so I thought.

'But you do!' It was a sharp shout.

'Such words are short, clear and mean -' She cut me off;

'Mean, yes. Just so.'

'But fuck is fine? And dick and shag?'

'Why not? These words are male, I do not feel them, here.' Spit came from her lips, a hand was on her heart.

I do use it, from time to time, true: what else rhymes with "dove"?

Reminds me of the scene from '10'where Dudley Moore is in bed with Julie Andrews trying to explain use of the word 'broad'.
