I think up poor excuses
to drop a virtual line,
text pretextual questions
-whose answers I know fine.
I call to check the meeting’s hour
when I surely know the time
and sibilate the harmless 'talk'
so love morphs into crime;
but still, I must debase myself,
for a minute of your time.

Last two lines are fantastic. Makes you stop and wonder how much interaction that we have with people that is completely meaningless and doesn't actually say anything. ... Pet hate of mine: Text jokes. My phone goes, I think it might be important turns out to be just another bloody stupid joke.

I liked this a lot. It didn't make me think of meaningless communication though, more bordering on pestering and therefore very meaningful to the helpless, unrequited love sufferer.

This sounds like what women do rather than men, based on my own (limited) experience?!
