For the Algonquin, June
brings the Strawberry Moon;
other names are equally
sweet.
A Honey Moon is a
Hot Moon, a romantic
as a Rose Moon
and yes, indeed, a Planting Moon.
For the writer one Moon
brings inspiration: soon,
other words are inking the
sheet.
A vellum sheet is a
cruel sheet, as blameless
as a Bride's sheet,
an open yet unwritten sheet.
For lovers every any-tune
plays romantic notes like moon
to change the heart's arrhythmic
beat.
A heart's beat is a
hot beat, a feverish
and a fast beat,
but still, a secret, yearning beat.

Being a lover of any moon poems, I found this one to
be a real gem.
