We keep an open secret from each other.
Hiding hearts on empty sleeves
like victims of the minefield
that is love.
We are maimed by passionate explosions.
Who knew that love could
be so volatile, after so long
gathering dust?
We are brave survivors still, taking
comfort in each other;
ignoring proofs in front of us that
damage is collateral.

This line:
'Hiding hearts on empty sleeves'
is just fabulous.
Isn't this just short and honest?
