S.S. Great Britain

from the ABC set The Long and the Short of It...

This ship of fools is holed along the Plimsoll Line,
we've downed the albatross of ancient rime,
our crew has less sense than the Heavenly Mary's
or the Dutchman's, come to that.

Where is the Christian for our one-eyed Bligh,
who watches debt-charges plume the water high?
Our prospects are worse than those of the Hesperus,
or the Titanic, come to that.

hear hear

Cause the pursers robbed all the money
And scuppered us asunder
So keelhaul the captian cause
He is the great pretender

Perhaps we should search the sea-bed for pirate gold?
