Chapter 1
August 2515
Fantacia gave Orion one last call. She had spent at least one hour of that morning just calling his name over and over again.
He never could get himself out of bed; there were always more than one of his family members calling him until he did eventually move.
“Come on, you’ll be late, you have to get all your stuff packed into the jeep for the house you are moving into, preferably before your lectures start in a week’s time!” She shouted sarcastically.
Heavy footsteps and groaning came from the side room as Orion’s large body got out of his bed.
Kale and Halen stood in the huge hall with bags and boxes all piled on the floor next to them, they too had decided to have an adventure and move to Earth, taking their degrees at a University in England. Halen had taken forensics, he said ‘he loved to play with dead things’ and Kale had taken a course in English with some psychology, even Raidar knew his son was more of a thinker than a doer, even if he was a fine Warrior.
“What is it with that kid?” said Raidar.
He began getting impatient, waiting in the hall pacing up and down. “He’d be late for his own death!” Raidar said to his boys.
“He’d be late for anything, he is so laid back, you could set him on fire and he’d burn before he realised,” Halen said.
The three men started laughing.
“Hey! What’s the joke?” Orion asked with terrific bed head, dragging a heavy trunk of things he planned to take with him.
He looked disheveled, his mohawk flat on his head splayed in every direction, a long baggy blue monster T-shirt and a pair of black baggie jeans, his eye’s large and full of sleep.
“What the Hell..?” Raidar said as he went to help pick up the massive trunk, even he had problems and began dragging it along. “I’m gonna give myself a hernia trying to carry this even from the hall to the car, tell me what’s in it, four dead bodies and a washing machine?” Raidar asked him.
“Just a few supplies,” Orion said scratching his head looking at his mother.
“Hey don’t blame me,” Fantacia looked innocently at Raidar and then asked Orion. “What have you got in there?”
Orion opened the trunk and they all peered inside, there were wires, telescope parts and lots of other things they didn’t even recognise, except for a massive chunk of Voxian metal.
Raidar gave in struggling with it quickly; it was full of junk to him. “Carry this yourself,” Raidar said shaking his head dropping the trunk now and walking away.
“Not trying to be funny mate,” (which meant he was). “But where are your clothes?” Kale asked.
“Oh they are in there somewhere; I put them in first so that my telescope didn’t get damaged,” Orion smiled to his friend.
They all peered in again looking at the arm of a blue jumper that had been wrapped around the telescope lens.
“Marvellous!” Halen grabbed the one handle of the trunk while Orion grabbed the other. “Suppose I had better help him, it’s okay if I get a hernia, after all, I didn’t want kids anyway!” He said.
“Roger the professor at University has said he would set up part of the labs there for me, so I can build my inventions and help with progress of both of the planet’s technology which is not a bad start really,” Orion said smiling at his mother.
“Come on get a move on, the ship is ready and waiting,” Drakos said putting his face around the door.
“I don’t know what a bloody moaner!” Orion said. “I won’t miss that very much!”
Raidar laughed at him. “You boys don’t have any idea what it’s like being responsible for children.”
The boys looked confused at their father; they all realised he was actually mimicking Drakos at one of his best moans.
“He means well,” Fantacia said kindly.
“Just get a move on, we have the journey to the shuttle yet with ‘Mr. Happy go lucky man’, I think I will kill him if he decides to come on the journey with us to Earth,” Orion said.
“Good job he isn’t then,” Fantacia said giving Orion a shove.
They stepped out of the front door making their way carefully to the car and dropping the heavy trunk into the back of it, the suspension jolted as the car was weighed down by the trunks weight, Drakos stuck his head out of the window shaking it in disapproval, but saying nothing.

Earth was quieter now, since the battle, all had changed here, there was no longer industrial machinery polluting the air. Giant windmills filled the landscapes now and all the richer countries had turned self-sufficient, manufacturing equipment and food for themselves first, then giving away the surplus to those countries that had nothing. Not quite the way of the Voxians, but all in good time.
Extreme poverty as it was known was eradicated, because the people who could not grow their own food due to the barren conditions of their lands, had food and products given to them, while working the lands and making products that they could exchange for goods. There was no-one abusing their authority by taking what did not belong to them. No costly administration fees that bled dry the supplies handed over any more, no thugs taking food from those who needed it to live; care was taken to help survival of the Human race.
Transport of goods had been provided and supplies policed by the Reptilians and Voxians for the time being, let’s face it no-one in their right mind would pick a fight on them to try and stop the goods getting through to those in need.
The new food system worked, because the UN put a small curfew on everyone, they stayed in their houses as trucks of seed, soils and food arrived in their area. This was to prevent fighting from breaking out at small distribution centres.
Food and water when distributed was clean and safe, helping prevent some illnesses that had plagued people for many years.
A better Earth…

Earth, September 2515: University in the UK
Kale liked the University and settled into his student house almost immediately.
Halen and Orion found it a little more difficult, the thought of sleeping in a bed amused Kale, the Voxians didn’t need one because they didn’t sleep.
The economy on Earth had taken a leaf out of the Voxian way of life, all production of money ceased, but a problem Earth faced now was that the Humans felt they could just let others work while they did nothing, the government was still putting together policies to try and prevent this from continuing. The negotiating skills of the UN soon started putting those lazy people in their place and production lines were both busy and heaving with workers going about their day to day life.
Again a little different than Vox, but it was easy for the boys to get used to.
Lectures were interesting, Orion had taken biomedical science and was pleased to see that some of his old college buddies were in his classes; he talked about the difference in Human and Voxian DNA with his tutors who had asked for him to help build the new information into their syllabus and of course Orion agreed.
Life rolled on slowly, lectures came and went and the first semester soon came to an end.
Earth celebrated Christmas and as Fantacia loved this time of year the boys invited her to celebrate in their student house on Earth.
Fantacia loved her home on Vox, but Christmas was an Earthly experience that every species should have at least once, it was always so spectacular.
Kale and Halen were amazed at what people eat here; also the giving of gifts they thought made it all a bit confusing.
“If most Humans don’t believe in God or Christ, why do they find it so important to celebrate his birth?” Halen asked.
“Listen, this was a pagan meat burning ceremony first, forget all the religious crap! They really enjoy the whole ritual thing and let’s face it what a great way to have a knee’s up,” Fantacia said
“No, what Mom means really is she likes it when she gets loads of ‘prezzies’ and forget what they have named the celebration,” they all began to laugh.
Fantacia smiled at her son.
Orion shook his head and then continued. “Come off it Mom, you like the tree and the decorations and shopping for crap that you will open and then just leave on the shelf until it has some use, passing the things you don’t use onto the people you have to buy birthday presents for that you don’t like!” Orion said laughing sarcastically.
“Oh, that’s…just not…Oh yes it is actually true!” Fantacia laughed.
“So Christmas is about the presents then?” Kale asked.
“NO, it’s about the food!” Halen said looking at the shopping list. “Oh and the booze!”
“It’s about family and friends, also that you can eat and drink whatever you want to for a whole day and no one judges you for it,” Orion said pouring them a glass of lager each.
He passed the glasses around and everyone sat at the table.
“CHEERS!” they all said together.
