Resignation

Treated me like a piece of furniture,
Shoved me in a cupboard.
No light, no air,
a wilted flower.
For you I’m just a showpiece,
A machine,
To pickup the smithereens.
A caged bird.
My fluster-
Your sadistic pleasure.
My concerns-
Just some superfluous fuss.
Chuck everything at me,
Try to break me,
Test me, twist me.
My will is stronger.
Every word you speak,
Reeks of arrogance.
Your actions emancipate,
No respect, no dignity.
You forced solitude on me,
Put me in a glum dungeon,
It crushed my soul.
Will you repent?
You think I am tied,
Tied to my circumstances.
I have news for you,
I am free to choose.
I choose sovereignty,
I choose verve,
I choose ebullience,
So long and no thanks.
