Ashes

from the ABC set Poems

Walk with me and dance
On the ashes of this earth,
For mighty is the flame that wildly rages so,
And burning are the fears of a people long ago;
This is everybody's earth.

And the fire in the ashes
Warms the voices lost below -
Gone are not the secrets
Of long forgotten sorrow.

But the whispers in the wind
Echo hope that cannot fade;
Only drowning in the darkness,
Till again the fire is made.

I dont think I really understand what this is about, it could be a lot of things for just one feeling, I like it anyway :) K

Hehe thanks. It's just about Earth and our ancestors and forgotten voices of the past. But I think poetry is best interpreted by its readers.
