Sometimes it seems
fruitless to ask
instead we pronounce
our wishes
antagonised by a man whom
we do not wish to know
we shout and scream
throw stones
and Molotov cocktails
brute force against us
with tanks and batons
teargas and bullets
our dislike is not
written with a fountain pen
but spelled out in blood
we utilise our solidarity
net based
web wise
we are crossing the line
between totalitarian rule
and the voice of the people
speaking out shouting out
to free the poor and give
our children schools to attend
unemployed a job
we want broad brush strokes
of democracy
not authoritarian force

Another very good IP Pia, you really work well with these inspiration points and like seashore says, so quick to find the words - well done. :-)

Thanks Insert, Seashore, Fatboy and Pinda for your kind comments and thanks for reading. I liked writing this piece being a bit of a militant myself and feeling for the people marching through Egypts streets wanting a way out of poverty and unemployment. They need a change of wind direction
