What is important? (200 word piece)

What is the question that we should all ask ourselves? What should I wear tomorrow? What am I doing tomorrow? Where is jimbo? Is our five sense reality all that really exists? These are all pertinent questions, but which ones or one should we ask, which ones should burn in our soul? Oh now there’s that word of different connotations, religion, religion, religion, religion....well fuck religion, religion to me is something trying to tell me how, or what to experience and when. How to think, behave, consume, sacrifice, and blindly follow a symbolic story as literal history and basis for all morals and ethics. Why would we want to be influenced by a regurgitated opinion, perception and mind set, when I want to make it my own, not an adopted opinion or false belief held up like a flashing false idol? The means and capabilities of each of our creative individualities are limited by the scarcity and ambiguity of what is acceptable or beautiful. Life can be nothing but ‘art’ each movement moving mountains and each breath changing the future, not just of our selves, but those around us. Together we are the human race, divided we are racist. Unity.

I always like to read pieces like this, I'd like to see more on the site.

I'm an atheist but I'm not an anti-theist quite like you are. I believe that religion for many people is comfort and tradition, rather than an instruction on how to behave, etc.

I can see the value in being part of a religion much easier than I can see the value in believing in God.

Cheers
Ben

PS I spotted a little typo:'breathe' should be 'breath' I think.

When i write, i'm not always expressing my opinion.I respect all religion's in their pure forms, they reveal a truer version of history than many text books these days. i have read about many and will continue to do so. My problem with religion is the way we are supposed to interpret the holy scriptures and archeological evidence pointing to errrm E.T's being our 'god' or 'gods' as it should be (not that i consider them to be). Perhaps there is one profound line in my rant and maybe that is what made writing a 200 word off the top of my head rant worth it.
Thanks for the heads up (breathe)
Oh and to set the record straight, i would never concider myself an atheist, and never an anti-theist. I am a very spiritual person, the divine spirit does not begot religion.
