IP - How did it come to this?


from the ABC set Fiction...

The barman’s eyes betray none of his boredom or contempt; he’s the picture of congeniality as he acknowledges the ‘political views’ of his regular patrons. Piercing insights no doubt gleamed from the day’s issue of The Sun then recounted ham fistedly with entirely no conviction.

He thinks to himself, How did I get here?, How did it come to this?

Really liked this, it sums up how you feel doing a job that you don't want to do. I think a lot of us have been there. You've also left me wanting to know more about this character.

Thank you, the barman is based on the main character from a short story I'm working on called "the long night of 'Peter Shipman'", it's encouraging to know the character has legs, so to speak. Thanks again.
