Mythology

The mythology of the following people; the Maya, Chinese, North America and Semites all have things in common:

1. In the beginning the earth was empty and barren.
2. The land was seperated from the water.
3. There was a Creator God.
4. His creative power brought everything into existence.
5. People were made from mud.
6. First animals, then people were made.
7. Everything was a paradise in the beginning.
8. From here came all mankind.
9. An explnation for the two sexes; man and woman.
10. (The Flood is a common motif)

This is like Descartes' 'I think, therefore I am.' It is people's explanation for the world around them.

Interesting yes,

Many myths, both from primitive peoples and ancient civilisations, have much in common. From every continent, from the Americas to Africa, from Europe and through to the East. It makes one wonder and doubt if it can be coincidence. I believe myth is not simply just fiction, that there is deeply underlying meaning.

Creation myths often run along parallel lines. Should one read Genesis, the sequence itself is in line with modern scientific evidence and theory. As you say: Plants before fish, before animals, before humans.

As an observation regarding creation according to the Bible: Every and each thing in the Universe was "created" (out of nothing), whilst man was "made" (made of earth and water), and was given breath.
