3O. the end of the road...

A man walked down a long road. He travelled for many days, and met all kinds of wonderful strangers along the way. He saw beautiful valleys and fields, with workmen working on them, as he walked on. He passed through several small villages. Always he walked on along the path and admired the landscape. Green rolling hills carpeted the land. He whistled to himself at times, or sang old tunes, as he walked on. When he reached the end of the journey he could see a homely little cottage standing alone on a hillside; this was his destination. He walked up to the gate in the small picket fence, and there his friend awaited him. They shook hands and his friend put his hand on his shoulder and led him into the house, where he would tarry a long while to rest…
