The Last Laugh…
There once was a King who had a Prince for a son. They were entertained by their court jester, who always wore a funny hat, and entertained them with his antics. The clown was not a serious person. The Prince and the Clown, however, had their disagreements, and because of that the Prince developed an intense dislike in the clown. If there was one thing the Prince despised; it was insolence. The clown went about life as if everything was a joke and huge co-incidence. One day, when the King went away on business, the Prince had the jester hung from nearest tree by the servants. While they put the noose about his neck, the fool thought to himself; ‘Oh my, what a co-incidence, I’m about to get my neck stretched.’ The Prince lived happily thereafter…

Cold Fact…
There was a rich farmer who owned a poultry farm. When the economy was booming he did very well and produced and sold a lot of fowl. One day, however, hard economic times hit him, as they experienced a severe depression. The farmer was forced to downscale, as his pocket was affected as well, and as a result he had to cut down on his production, and bred much less poultry. The demand for the product had declined along with the economy…

Au Revior…
Two men are travelling along a gravel country road. They walk day in and day out along the road, headed for a distant destination. They passed all kinds of people along the way, peasants working in the countryside, and poor villagers alongside the road of small towns that they passed through. Each night they camped next to the road, and kept each other company, and slept under the stars. They travelled far like this in each other’s company, walking along the road, until they came to a fork in the road one day. The road split up, and they would each take a different road from here on forward. They shook hands and said to one another; “Until we meet again.” Then they each walked on alone on separate routes, heading for their homes further on…

The King…
A great King had a great Empire. He ruled justly and his kingdom experienced peace and prosperity. All was well throughout the land. But one day a mere Baron on the outskirts of the Empire started a revolt against the Throne with the aid of the people of his nearby village. The King heard news about these events and sent out a mighty army against them to quell the revolt. The villagers suffered for their rebellion, and the Baron and the ring-leaders were dragged from the castle and hung on a nearby hillside. Once matters had settled, the King continued to rule the land, and all went well once more…

Pay Day…
A rich man might sometimes own a stable of racing horses. He does this as it is his passion, hobby and past-time. It is difficult to actually convert it into a profitable enterprise, because you are competing with many other owners, and only once in while one of your horses may actually win a race. As such you do it more for the love of it, than in hope to make a profit. As in any other business you are lucky if you can just break even at the end of the day, and make the undertaking pay for itself. This is probably seldom the case, and on the contrary, it costs you a lot of money and work. Trainers, jockeys and stable-hands have to paid. Horses have to be fed, groomed and their health and well-being looked after. This all costs a lot of money, and a ‘win’ only comes once in a while. Nonetheless, it is these exceptional occasions when one of your horses does indeed comes in, that makes it all worth while. The day your horse wins a race; it is payday…
