D. the gospels

Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus of Nazareth had biological parents. This was probably Josef and Mary. The terms ‘virgin birth’ and ‘immaculate conception’ are merely metaphorical and only came into use after Jesus’ deification.

The Spirit that descended from heaven like a dove onto Jesus was seen by John the Baptist, in other words it was in the mind of John the Baptist only. The same applies to the light that shone from Jesus during the ascension; it was in the minds of the disciples only.

His "miracles" happened by natural means. There is a logical and/or scientific explanation for all his miracles. His life and deeds fell into the larger picture of life.

In all ways he was mortal. Reference to ‘eternal life’, ‘Father in heaven’ etc. are all metaphorical. He presumably died on the cross.

His life was there to give faith and guidance to people in their everyday lives, and the Gospels are centrally about the message of faith, hope and love; not about the miracles that he performed.

There exists no mythological ‘heaven’, ‘hell’ or ‘soul’. This is all meant in a metaphorical and symbolical sense, as is the resurrection. ‘Eternal life’ represents mankind that continues generation after generation for countless ages in the ‘heavens’.

Faith is there to be lived and practiced in a person’s everyday life on earth while you are alive, for your own benefit and well-being, because the day that you die you will be permanently deceased.

(An explanation is that Jesus was just an average person and that his miracles such as 'walking on the water' was derived from metaphorical speech used at the time. Also that the Gospel was basically 'composed' by Matthew. This is described in the book 'The Last Tempation' by Nicos Kazantzakis.

He died and his disciples probably stole his body in aid of inventing the new religion. He must have died, as he was mortal.)
