little miss perfect

from the ABC set

Little Miss Perfect.

Little miss perfect is a young girl from a wealthy family. She is walking with her friend, the other little miss perfect, through the shopping mall. They laugh and point and giggle at all the older people in their funny clothes, and old worn out faces.

They get particular pleasure out of laughing at poor people, who can't afford snazzy clothes, like themselves. Yes, they laugh at everyone, and sometimes even no-one in particular. To them everybody was no-one in particular. They laughed and joked about all these queer old fashioned people. And why shouldn't they laugh, after all, they were two little miss perfects.

(What they didn't know, and which no-one had had the heart to tell them, was that in thirty years time they would not be little miss perfect no more. No, as a matter of fact, they will then be old Mrs. Imperfect. With sagging breasts, a huge behind and an extremely ugly face. So what are they laughing at? Who knows?)

But in the meantime, on this sunny day, they walk through the mall and point and laugh and giggle and make faces. Oh what joy to be little miss perfect!

Beauty is but skin-deep, but ugly goes right to the bone...
