River Scene.
The trees on either side of the river’s banks grew in lush green clumps. The trees were thick green foliage on the banks. Scattered all along the river, the rocks lay large, round and gray. Among the boulders lay countless smaller round rocks, and among those lay millions of round pebbles of varying size, from large to tiny. Underneath it all, and sprayed out among it, lay the smooth white sand of the river. The river flowed by gentle and serene. It was a green mass of ever-moving water.
The water flowed quietly by. Tall reeds grew in large areas around the banks. The air and trees were alive with bird life, and their calls echoed through the river canyon. They flew through the sky, and landed high in the branches of trees, where they played and fed. Sometimes they landed on the soft sand on the water’s edge to catch insects, and to drink water from the river. Their feet left tiny tracks, which formed seemingly random patterns in the sand. Sometimes a weaver would land on a reed and pluck a few of the plant’s fibres off for his nest. He would then fly off with a few strands of reed in his mouth.
The birds sang and lived the day to its full extent, as the gentle wind stirred the air in the valley. High above a few scattered white clouds drifted lazily passed. The sun shone like an ever-seeing golden eye in the sky. The wind rustled the trees and reeds as it blew in soft gusts like a living breath. And still the river flowed by.
The river flowed on like soft gentle music, accompanied by the song of the birds, the wind and the trees. The river flowed in eternal harmony with nature. The river flowed, and the river flowed….
The End.

The River
"the river runs wild
the river runs true
the river of my love
runs into the sea
of you."

Great Jehova, Ancient of Days,
Saw you standing by the winding river
Saw you standing by the shining stream
Felt you stirring in my heart this morning
Felt you moving in my heart at night
Ancient of Days, Ancient of Days
