Samson and Delilah.
There was a cool breeze blowing out in the yard. They sat inside the large room furnished with a few chairs and a table. At the back was a door that led to the bedroom, and to the side one that led to the kitchen. The birds sang tuneful melodies in the trees outside.
He sat reclining in one of the chairs and watched the view outside through the window. It was a beautiful day and warm, but not too hot. The sky was a brilliant blue and the few scattered trees outside had clumps of green foliage. A chicken paraded past in the dusty street outside and pecked at morsels in the dust as he went by. The cool wind kept breezing through the valley.
They did not talk much, but enjoyed one another’s company in silence. She brought him some grape-juice in a cup to drink and placed it on the table by his side. He thanked her with a smile and returned to watching the view outside the window. He shook his long dark hair and it settled in tidy tresses on his back and shoulders. He picked up the cup she had placed on the table and drank from it taking small sips in fairly long intervals. The muscles on his forearm rippled underneath the sleeve of his garment while he drank.
He continued looking at the world outside while he drank, and sat thinking his own thoughts. She was busy in the kitchen with something, although he wasn’t sure what it was. He was only distracted by this for a moment before he continued surveying the valley outside, and enjoying the peacefulness of nature.
The wind rustled the leaves of the trees outside, and the birds sang on tirelessly in the hot, sunny day. For them it was just another quiet day alone together…
The End.
