from the ABC set Ф Bible Stories

When I was a tiny-tod in the seventies, I had a friend who had rich parents. We were very small kids, and when I used to go and visit them, we used play outside in their big yard. He had his own sand-pit in the garden, covered by a net, to keep the leaves out. When we played in his sand-pit he was very important, and strutted about if he owned the place. Which he did in a way, because it was the arrangement with his parents; it was his sand-pit. As we played in it with our toys, he always made it clear that it was his sand-pit. As such he was the more important of us two; I played in his sand-pit, according to his rules. Isn’t it funny how important having your own little sand-pit in life can make you feel?
