In Africa farmers do the following to catch baboons; they make a hole in a pumpkin just large enough for the baboons hand to fit into. They then place the pumpkin with the hole in it in the pumpkin-patch, and wait for the baboon to arrive. When a baboon pitches up it looks around to see if there’s anybody about. Assured of his safety he then proceeds to plunder the pumpkin-patch. When he finds the pumpkin with the hole in it, he tries to get the flesh of the vegetable out by putting his hand into the hole, and attempting to pull it out. But once his hand is inside the hole and has grasped the flesh, he cannot get it out again due to the expansion of his hand inside the pumpkin. Thus he is stranded. He cannot figure his way out of the predicament and sits with the large pumpkin attached to his arm. He is caught. Any time he wishes the farmer can come and pick up his baboon…

Ok I see. When the baboon starts to panic he grabs the pulp and pips inside so much the tighter and tighter and he’s trapped, by his greed and fear really. Like a man clinging to a branch above the raging flood.
Let go!
