The Train.
The steam locomotive stands next to the siding and lets out an occasional burst of steam. Its powerful engine is turning gently and rhythmically. It stands there a while longer and then it pulls out onto the open tracks.
The engineer is at the controls, and he lets the big train pick up speed gradually. It is now travelling smoothly on the tracks with mighty strokes of huff-chuff, huff-chuff, as the wheels turn on the tracks. The wheels click and clack in rhythm with the strokes of the strong machine.
The engine and coaches bend with the contours of the tracks, like a mighty serpent. The train rolls on smoothly, and with speed, on the steel tracks. It is as if it is gliding just above the surface, and the spinning wheels are barely visible to eye. It huff and chuffs, and click and clacks rhythmically, as it speeds ever onward towards its destination.
It rolls on through the green fields, and it is a beautiful spectacle to behold to all those standing by the way-side. The passengers look out of the windows occasionally to admire the landscape. The fields of tall grass lies spread out in all directions, with clumps of tall trees here and there.
Smoke swirls in huge clouds and billows from the chimneys, and furls itself out, as it slowly dissipates into the air behind them. And still the train speeds on, a mighty steel snake travelling at a mighty speed…
