Waiting for William.
The house was old and large. It was made out of wood, and painted white. It stood out on the open prairie amidst a sea of orange daisies. Some distance from the house there grew a small thorn tree, bright green in colour. Closer to the house, next to the wide porch, stood a larger tree with bare branches, stripped of most of its foliage.
The house stood on the open plain enveloped in multitudes of beautiful orange daisies. Here and there, amidst the sea of flowers, there grew dandelions. These were ripening and casting of their seeds to the wind. They floated and swirled on the breeze like miniature helicopters. Gently, they glided away over the expanse of orange flowers, seeking their own place to grow and bloom anew.
The house stood like a pretty picture amidst the swirling ocean of blooms. The gables where high, and an attic tower rose above the roof. The second story windows where large, and open to all sides. On the open porch three people sat seated, and awaited the arrival of their son and brother; a man, a woman, and their daughter. The young man had been gone a long time, but yesterday they had received news that he would return home soon.
Behind the house, in the east, the sun was rising, and it high-lighted the large house in a brilliant yellow glow. Above the birds were flying in the clear, blue morning sky. A few birds flew by the tall tree growing next to the porch. The people sat and waited patiently, eager to see some sign of arrival of the young man on the distant horizon. They all looked hopefully down the winding ribbon of the old dirt road, to where it disappeared in the distance.
Fleece clouds where scattered out thinly all over the blue morning sky. The small family sat and waited. And still the dandelion seeds glided gently over the sea of flowers…
The End.

I've seen this poster it's a bit haunted actually. You've frozen it well
with words.
