A week with lots more goals, which I'm sure all will be happy about. Man City, furthered their cause with another convincing display. Yes they leaked goals, but their style of attacking play is scintillating. It was good to see Carlito come on and look bright, again he was outshone by Sergio, but that is unsurprising given the form this young lad is in. Even this early they have set out their stall, and Man Utd will be under pressure to perform against Spurs, this evening in their first Premier League outing. Bolton, again looked good, and believe could be a good bet for European football next year.
Elsewhere, Arsenal and Liverpool took part in what I considered a very boring match. Yes there were 2 goals, but they weren't classic by any means and both sides seemed tentative and cancelled each other out. Another week and another red card for the Arsenal. With the lack of discipline and no win this season, along the increasingly imminent departure of Nasri, calls for Wenger's head are getting louder, but I feel our still unwarranted, at the moment they are in transition and as such losing him now would be a disaster. These sales will allow him to strengthen the squad. People seem to have forgotten quite how much he has given to the club. On the other hand, Dalgleish will be pleased with his emerging sides performance. The midfield, with the likes of Adam, Downing and Henderson settling nicely, is looking great. Adam is playing well, maybe because he no longer has to wash his own kit. I eagerly await the return of Gerrard, as this would make a very tasty midfield, perfect for England duty.
Elsewhere, Villa looked strong, for once. Chelsea passed the West Brom challenge, a difficult fixture,in anyones eyes. wolves recorded there 2nd win, and are not at all looking out of depth, having been promoted 3 years ago from the Championship. The Barton saga continues, but if he keeps turning performances like Saturdays, I'm sure people will be soon commenting on his footballing talent, rather than his personal life.
Finally, the match of the weekend was, Peterborough bs. Ipswich. Paul Jewell s side, were demolished, live on Sky sports. I'm sure championship clubs are taking note, and the worries of little goals, after CMS's departure will be quelled. A stunning hat trick from Tomlin, earnt him the match ball, but all of the players were heroes, after a thumping 7 - 1 victory against 9 man town. A special mention should be given to Paul Taylor, in his first start for Peterborough, scoring 2 on debut. A free signing year ago, the player has been wrapped in bubble wrap and finally unpackaged, in a wonderful return to football. A troubled player, he was dropped from the Man Utd academy, moving from pilar to post, ending up in Belgium. Banned for drug violations, he has made a miraculous recovery and really got his career back on track. We hope he stays on the straight and narrow, if Darren is anything like his father, I'm sure he will, and continue to bang in goals this season. It should be remembered, that they went down first, and scored 4 against 11 men, showing great courage.

A fair assessment of what's going on I think - but the mighty Spurs are yet to start and then I hope we'll see fireworks!
