Fractured (16th September 2008, 4.25pm)
And this is how it ends
________________Time has not been kind
Like blows to backs of heads
________________I watched Taggart last night
Alone
________________Dog on lap got soaked
Fast forwarded, yet slow
________________Images pixellate and blur
As tears fell, speech slurred
________________On the telephone to home
So this is where I stand
________________One mile from the shore
I have drifted out
________________Can’t see land anymore
An ocean of my tears
________________Couldn’t float you ashore
Open up my chest
________________I think my heart has cracked
Across
________________Add up what I’ve lost
I’m still in the black
________________Wouldn’t take you back
This is how it ends
________________I have the best friends
They know what to say
________________You’re not worth it anyway.

An interesting poem, certainly. I have read it now a few times and get more out of it on each reading.
The last four lines, brilliant.
Incidentally, I was just browsing some of your other work and particularly liked 'Tuesday Blues' (it seemed apt to read it today:-))

I love Orbital but I'm not so sure about this one. The lines are, I take it, blanks, to be filled in by the reader and yet I don't find enough space in the emotion to fill them in. Maybe we should be left guessing more?
