i can't recall your whole
just the small things
parts of you
and moments
hung on strings
like prisms in the window
breaking light into splinters
giving colour wings
a sudden grin of pure delight
a twist of your back
as you turn, mid-fight
your fired-up eyes
and soaring hair
an eyelash flickering
one tiny angry hair
and a tear on your cheek
betraying your care
i can't recall now
what we argued about
or remember why
we couldn't
stop and rewind
like horses in full flight
breaking love into shards
no changed minds
