A Hug in a Doorway

Stumbled mornings littered with thoughts
Your face as I cycled away
Reaching the corner
Pedalling faster
It would have been worse had I stayed.

A hug in a doorway and a smile from a hat
It wasn’t your fault it was mine
A waking dream in which
Brimming hearts spilled
My fault even more so this time.

You defend those around you, protecting your friends
You caught me from teasing the road
She loved you but left you
I can’t even do that
I can’t tell the stars to explode.

Loving you secretly, in the wrong way
Guiding your heart to heal.
To then become colder
So you find someone bolder-
A love you receive that is real.

I really like this Kachina - what I would say though is that the 'colder-bolder' rhyme detracts slightly, as if you were suddenly writing a limerick. Hope you don't mind the comment, apart from that I think its great :--)

Hmm I was thinking something similar when I read it back so I might look at it. Thank you x

Really like this, I'm left wondering why its "the wrong way", beautifully written throughout,
