The Musician

Call our hearts to dance why don't you?
Play our minds with rhythmic hooks
Tempt us like Macbeth with music,
Teach us to love like tuneful crooks.

We deserve to be angelic dancers,
Hypnotic fingers holding time,
Learning to live from a passionate preacher,
With melodies luring our laughter from grime.

Once I wrote your name in ink,
Beelzebub flipped a concrete sky,
But you taught my lips to sing through beauty
And singed my mind with a stroke of the thigh.

So call our hearts to dance why don't you?
Remember that you hold my own,
Tempt us like the muse' song,
We'll dance until the song has flown.
