Borders (I.P.)

I had come to the borders of sleep,
I saw land in the distance nearing,
nearing me, no nightmares can I see
so waves, by all means, drift me on
shore a strange land familiar to me
once before I sleep would I dreamed
and returned this morning it seems.

On the borders of homeland security
never want to see the other country
where once imprisoned for years and
just to get away I let go all sleep
now bravely returning from the sea,
for my land of dreams called to me,
hope is worth the borders of sleep.
