Life long love is not always last for so long

Now would understanding help?,
no they had had a whole life!,
they knew it would end, early,
never need to be hubby or wife
as long as they both knew love
never grew old, yet life-long,
it was not rushed, only lived.

might sound better if you reversed the wife and hubby. otherwise i like it.

very true words spoken here.
I also like the last three lines:-

Those lines ring so true.
