Always used to be the way
as if everyone has to fit
first started school went
wrong way, language round
got my left knuckles hit.
They tried to show me how to write
only I couldn't even do that right
they got me to use a fountain pen
and told to not get into a fight.
Except it doesn't always work,
so it seems I always do
and my hand was always covered in ink
all up the side of my right hand
my right hand pinky was blue.
Now what they called a lesson
was to me waste of time and
not singing along hymns was
to them crossing the line.
So when I chose my own thing
it was what I wanted to do
my art teacher told me I was
all wrong at painting too.
Sometimes am pen details
in careful patterns or
am an angry paintbrush
Broad brush strokes
all over a wall.
It doesnt matter now
I paint for only me
all the colour in me
for only me to see.

Explaining writing at school.
And brush strokes on the wall.
I used to just scribble circles.
But daughter when small drew in chalk
all over someones gargage.Rumpus so made
to wipe it all off.

Hi Kahdai,
perfect words used here for the IP.
It reminded me of when I was at school and they
tried to make me write and draw with my right
hand, but I just couldn't master it, so they gave
up in the end and I carried on using my left.
By the way congratulations on the cherries.

A great one for the IP Kahdai- I am a bit late but I can't seem to catch up- sorry- This is very good. Brings one back to the time at school where you just had to do what the teacher said. No I am not left handed- ambidextrous but most my right hand- left foot- ha ha- a beautiful little poem. Congratualtions on the cherry. well done !!
