Poem - The Mirror

Your world moves fast
You must notice me
If you dont look
Then you wont see

Quite often I shine
The colours are bright
Whats round the corner
My timing just right

It will take a while
to clean it up
The coffee still hot
leaks from the cup

The car is crushed
His body all limp
The blood stained road
and his spilt drink

This happens too much
But what can I do
I'm strategically placed
for the safety of you

Hands are waving
speaking on phones
Children are screaming
New ring tones

I can save your life
if only you'd look
A big dump truck
See how it shook

Wait there little girl
You must not cross
Please look at me
for I am the boss

Your head hangs low
What have you there
A phone, a game
Do you not care

Stop little girl
Why cant you see
There is something coming
Just look at me

I warned you before
If you dont look at me
You will get hurt
because you wont see

Now lights are flashing
and here they come
Uniformed people
and now the mum

You will never learn
You move too fast
What was the future
is now the past

A simple poem Katy, but a novel angle on the mirror. Neat :-)
