LILITH

from the ABC set Gothic Poems

LILITH

Lilith walks by night and hides her face;

Her footsteps leaving trails of lust behind.

Under a velvet cloak and silky lace,

The perfume of desire for the blind.

The fury of the wind ,nests in her hair,

Deep blue sea waters, are her tears.

Wild fiery desolation everywhere...

And many ashes that await the stir

Of her molten hands, bringing the worst desires,

Caressing whitened flesh by wrath and fear.

Plunging lost souls in lonely mires

Of sinful decadence... The fall so near

That with one touch of lips, igniting flames ,

The Earth becomes like Hell, a flaming sky.

Are we, in awe sublime, burning with shame,

For we have sinned with her, before we died!

Lilith, so it is said, was Adam's first wife...
Unlike Eve she is not a mortal woman and some say she was an evil witch who ate children.

No wonder Fraiser left her then ;o)

I think that Lilith stands for lust, sex and obscure desires.

I've heard it said that when she left Adam (over a dispute about who should be on top) she moved into a cave with various demons and spawned troublesome creatures which enter our world through mirrors.
Probably explains why there are so many about now that almost everyone has a mirror :O)
