MIRAGE

from the ABC set Gothic Poems

MIRAGE

On the brows the brand of lust,

On the eyes the blaze of bliss,

On the mouth a mortal kiss,

On the heart a dagger thrust.

Therefore we ,slave of love,

Bend our heads, don't look above,

And we're thrown into the Abyss,

Of strong passions and beliefs.

Love that cleanses all, will rise

Washed in its own blood and tears.

He who sweats away the fears,

Rises all fulfilled and wise.

Love that fills the void with light,

Drives our passions through the night.

But beware of shame and loss,

Love's a mirage full of gloss.
