A massive weight is pushing
Is pushing down on me,
If there should be an end to this
It's one I cannot see.
A taloned claw is clawing
Is clawing at my mind,
If there should be an end to this
It's one I cannot find.
Unshed tears are pressing
Are pressing at my eyes,
Will there be an end to this
Before resistance dies?
Unspoken words are fighting
Are fighting to be heard,
Will there be an end to this
Before my hope's abjured?
Great dark clouds are massing
Are massing o'er my head,
Can I reach the end of this
Come through each day of dread?
My weary heart is breaking
Is breaking in my chest,
Can I reach the end of this
Come through each draining test?
My fears and thought are hidden
Are hidden 'neath a mask,
If I'm to reach the end of this
Your help I must now ask.
My very soul is screaming
Is screaming as I plead,
If I'm to reach the end of this
Your help I dearly need.
If I'm to reach the end of this
Your help I dearly need.

With this, as with many of your poems, kheldar, I can truly identify.
The repetition works well and adds to the general 'weight' of the poem.
Fine work, again.

A very brave and honest poem, I can't pretend to know how you feel, but your words convey so much,
I've tried to write how it makes me feel to read them, I hope you don't mind,
Together we are strong enough
The weight we both can bear,
Fingertip caresses
Will ease the gripping claw.
Tender thumbs will brush away
Any errant tears,
Say those words
I’m not afraid
Tell me of your fears.
Whispered summer breezes
Will chase away the storm,
Two hearts that beat together
Will keep each other warm.
Fears and thoughts will prosper
When they’re kept inside,
I will open doors for you
Then your fears will die.
Softly sung, a lullaby
Will soothe your fretful soul,
Songs of peace and love and trust
And Light and truth are told.
When your soul is lost in darkness
And you’re hurting to the bone
I will wrap you up in me
Until the dark is gone.

That is absolutely beautiful Shirley, and believe me, I don't mind at all. Thank you so very, very much, it deserves to be posted in its own right.

Empathy so much from me & I wish I had my shirley around at the time I felt like this. Reading this actually upset me a bit, I suppose it's meant to, but don't feel bad, that is the power of a great poet to cause such emotion, especially to me. Kahdaix
