Free of mind and free of speech
Free to learn and free to teach.
Free to prosper, free to build
Free to seek a life fulfilled.
Free from loss and free from doubt
Free to let emotion out.
Free to weep and free to laugh
Free to walk a different path.
Free from torment, free from regret
Free to remember, free to forget.
Free from sorrow, free from pain
Free from greed's encumbering chain.
Free from envy, free from lust
Free to be trusted and to trust.
Free to care and free to love
Free to pray to one above.
Free to choose what we believe
Free to stay and free to leave.
Free from ego, free from pride
Free to be the self inside.
Free from want and free from need
Free to fail, free to succeed.
Free to work and free to strive
Free to keep a wish alive.
Free from hunger, free from blight
Free to sleep content at night.
Free from violence, free from fear
Free to talk and free to hear.
Free to hope and free to dream
Free to cheer the other team.
Free to speak with mindful voice
Free to cede another's choice.
Free to run and free to fly
Free to live and mayhap die.
Free from scorn and free from hate
Freedom is a blesséd state.

Although I may not agree with you on all your "free to's" I thought it was a very good poem as an entry.
Good Luck in the competition.

Thought provoking and contrasting. Well thought about. Loads for children to debate in English classes for example.

Greetings David!
I think your poem really illustrates the variety of ways people define freedom and how it can be searched for within and without. I agree with Blessing's comment about it being ideal for a school classroom, there is loads of stuff in there to think about and pick apart. For me, the best thing about the poem is how it makes me step back and consider my own view of what freedom is.
Best wishes
Paul
