Solace

from the ABC set Poetry - The Recollected

The world shifts to give solace
a darker day to hide
this refugee
I hunt the rain
and let the shadows grow

But more waiting than ending
and more yet to tell
for the world will turn again
to kiss the sun

And this turning works
for the soul grinds too
upon its axis.

And after a horrible winter, thank God we're turning towards summer again. This one cheered me up because it made me think of the turning from winter to summer. I'm still smiling. It's been a beautiful bright day today and your poem made me happy. I'll just remember not to read it again in six months time ;-)
