Carl, Molly and Jim

from the ABC set Good and Evil

Jim went to the kitchen to refill drinks for Carl, Molly and himself. Jim was talking loud from the kitchen about the last fishing trip and how he caught the biggest fish. "That was a kick ass striped bass Jim," Carl yelled from the living room. Jim came back in the living room and suddenly dropped all three drinks. The glasses sounded like gun shots as they hit the hardwood floor.

Carl was kneeling by the left side Molly and his wrist watch was caught on her hose. Her white garter was hanging over the front of her knee and her hose was pulled half way down her left thigh. It was like a silence before the Devil walks into hell. Jim's blank look turned into a cold stare. Jim screamed,"What the hell is going on here!"

Molly put her hands over her face and cried,"I'm so sorry Jim....I am so sorry!" Carl finally pulled his watch loose and said," I know what it looks like Jim but." Jim cut him off and shouted,"Yeah....it looks like you've been f***ing my wife....you piece of trash.....my best friend and my wife...or should I say my whore!"

Jim walked a few steps to a standing coat rack...took his 45 caliber pistol from the holster and pointed it at Carl. Molly screamed and Carl begged for Jim to put it down. Molly cried out,"Please Jim...don't...please...I'll do anything!" She then stood in front of Carl and begged for Jim not to kill him. Jim gave them an evil smile and calmly said,"Stay right there bitch...two shit birds with one bullet."

Molly bursted into tears while asking forgiveness. Carl stood behind her and was simply hoping for a quick death. He knew that Jim was a hard man and Carl's only chance out of this was Molly. Jim looked down at Molly's hose which had dropped just below her knee...a strange calm came over his face as he softly said," Molly...honey...get us new drinks...I have spilled the ones I made...get us new drinks baby."

Molly stood and was dumbfounded until Carl gave her a little nudge in the back. Molly slowly stepped around Jim and went into the kitchen. Jim said," Well Carl...we have a situation here...you've been f***ing my wife and I've been your f***ing friend for years...I've caught you a hundred times looking at her cleavage and more than that, looking at her ass."

Carl stayed silent with a very worried look on his face. Jim went on saying," Don't worry Carl....I'm fine....I've already made my decision not to kill you...let's just have a drink before you go...you know...for old time's sake." Molly brought out three new glasses of rum and coke...she was still shaking so bad that the glasses were clinking constantly. She nervously handed Jim his drink but couldn't look him in the eye.

Jim tucked the 45 in his belt as Molly handed Carl his drink. Both of Molly's hands were wet from spilling them. Jim raised his glass and said," Here's to good friends and love....someone out there has them...I don't!" Jim chugged his drink...wiped his mouth with his sleeve and shouted,"Drink up you two....this is our last party....drink up!"

Molly and Carl both were spilling the drinks from the sides of their mouths as they drank. When they finished, Molly took Carl's glass and set both glasses on the coffee table. Jim looked at his pocket watch and said,"Hey Carl...it's time for you to leave...it's half past whore f***ers and you might be late for sex with some poor sap's woman."

Carl nervously said,"OK...uh...see ya Jim....uh see ya Molly," as he stepped towards the front door. Jim chuckled and said,"No Carl...you're forgetting something....she is yours now...you wanted her bad enough to f**k over your best friend...you got her for life buddy." Molly cried," Please don't do this Jim...I promise...never ever again!"

Jim looked at her smiling and said," You have to go baby....I loved you with my whole heart and now it's empty...you have to go....now." Molly just looked down...picked up her purse and walked by Carl out the door. Carl quickly followed behind her. Jim stepped out on the porch and as Carl opened the truck door for Molly...Jim yelled," Hey Carl old buddy...If I ever see you without her...I'll kill you!" Carl acknowledged that he heard him and got in the pickup truck hurriedly.

The words of the following song...tell the rest of the story:

A slow night at the Mockingbird tavern

Jim sat in a dark corner booth

A neon beer sign and a cigarette ember

Was all that lit up the old pool room

Carl walked in and as he shook off the cold night

A shot rang out and he fell over dead

Big Jim stood up with gun smoke in his eyes

Damn you, I told you...he said

If I see you without her I'm gonna kill you

Molly emptied my heart on that day

Well I've seen you without her and I've killed you

And this time I made damn sure...she don't get her way.

Big Jim stepped over Carl's lifeless body

The warm red blood, flowed on the cold wood floor

Jim walked up to the bar and got him two fifths of whiskey

Then he slowly made his way outside the barroom door

Well I heard old Jim ran off to the mountains

I have told you a story that's true

Molly sits in the Mockingbird tavern

Every night alone in that same dark corner booth

If I see you without her, I'm gonna kill you

Those chilling words haunt her to this day

She sits alone in the Mockingbird tavern

Every now and then a tear falls....from her pretty face
