She walked up the trail, the night was a veil of moon shine
Not to be so late, she had to cross the Kellen's old fence line
Fire flies lighting in the fog like devil eyes
The echos of the wolves seemed to call on the storm in the skies
Faintly as a whisper she heard pa calling her home
His voice was like a dying man, screaming in the wilderness alone
She had heard of the tales about the Kellen's boys who murdered a young woman
The woman's daddy buried them alive here on Hells Cover Mountain
She was lost in the night
Stalked by an evil thing
Running to the cabin light with a wounded scream
Her face was cold and pale
From walking Kellen's trail
She said one of them called out,"ain't no one will see!"
The others breath of whiskey said,"just leave her to me!"
Then a cry came from a lady,"girl run for your life!"
Then she saw hands from the ground, one held a knife
Trees were bending over as rain fell with a sting
My sister was running as death bells began to ring
She fell into pa's arms, bleeding from the briers across her face
He shook her like a rag doll, shouting,"I told you 'bout that place!"
Sometimes after midnight the air smells whiskey stale
And you can hear the laughs and screams, out from Kellen's Trail
