Vera was planning on running off with the accomplice after they received $250,000 from Doris, Martha and Rosey. Vera had called Jake the day before she was murdered to brag about how she was milking the old cows.....she warned Jake to stay away from Sunrise because she lied and told them that Jake was in on it.
Vera had given the women a copy of edits....the worst one was about Martha filling her mouth with chocolate and spitting it out when the big O came.....also...one about Rosey putting her breasts in ice buckets....another about Doris having five large moles on her butt.
There was much more but Jake didn't write about it. Jake told me that Vera told him that she and her accomplice laughed in the faces of the old fat cows when the tape copy was playing. She only referred to her accomplice as "My new man."
Tommy...I hid the letter and the jar of hair in the oatmeal box...it is in the cupboard above the kitchen sink. I don't trust any of the locals....please give them to the FBI...I know that nowadays...they have that DNA thing...I believe the hair came from her accomplice.
I think Vera's accomplice had been milking the ladies for years. Either one or all of the ladies was about to turn him in...I think he killed them all in one night. I believe I know now who.......
The tape went silent...I rewound it and still nothing....it was the end of the tape...I flipped it over to play the other side and there was nothing on it. She was about to tell us his name....just a few more seconds...a few more seconds.
Tammy and I were astonished by what we heard. We both knew that it wasn't either of the Kremble boys who murdered the women. I don't know how much of the story Thankful told Harvey Kremble but my guess is, that it was enough to let him know that his dad didn't murder his mom.
Tammy and I got back in my car and headed back to the hospital. We had to find out the name....I don't know why Thankful just didn't tell us?
