The Therapist Files

from the ABC set Good and Evil

Detective Jordan Spane looked at his watch and waited for the arrest of his career. It was 11:00 ....an hour from the time ... the suspect would leave for lunch at noon. Paul Reydash was believed to be guilty of multiple rapes and murders. The arrest was to be made as soon as the suspect approached his car.

"August...I fucking hate August" Detective Spane mumbled to himself as he sat in the black van...wiping beads of sweat caused by heat and fear from his brow. He began to thumb through the case file he had brought with him to look over as he waited. Paul Reydash's therapist, Dr. Woods, had put up quite a legal battle to keep the police from getting their hands on Mr. Reydash's records...even though Dr. Woods had implicated the suspect by his vague statements.

Detective Spane looked at pictures of 5 rape and murder victims. All were tied...hand over hand, to trees with fishing line. Every woman was in their late 20s or early 30s....blond...and was given a red zero on their foreheads with a wide felt tip marker. They were found nude from the waist down....they were gagged with one of their own socks or undergarments and their purses were ripped and stabbed with a knife. All victims were covered with long thin welts from being whipped.

He read through Dr. Woods evaluations of Paul Reydash. One page stated that Paul hated his mother. She would beat his privates with her gold chain necklaces. She made him carry her purse everywhere they went. The nickname she gave him was,"My little waste of flesh." Paul couldn't sit without crossing his legs....it was an automatic defense obsession.

Paul wouldn't cry either....his eyes were dark and dry...he relieved the pressure with snot dripping into a trembling hand that constantly crumpled a tissue. Dr. Woods files made it iron clad because Paul confessed to feelings of rape and murder. Paul's mother had taken him fishing once....he didn't want to kill the worm...his mother tied him to a nearby tree and put welts on his naked body with his own birthday present....a fiberglass fishing pole.

Paul Reydash was very intelligent though...he had cleaned the bodies with bleach and also used a douche. He held their nostrils closed to suffocate them because they were already gagged and duct taped at the mouth. Not one shred of physical evidence tied him to the brutal murders.

Detective Spane thought out loud,"What a sick piece of shit...raised by a sick piece of shit." He shoved the files back in his briefcase and got on the radio to make sure everyone was set to grab the dirt bag.

It was three minutes after 12:00 when Paul Reydash came out the door of Reydash Accounting. He was just a few feet from his car when Detective Spane and five officers grabbed him. After a hurried reading of his Miranda rights, one of the officers cuffed his hands and feet....they shoved him into the van while telling him he was charged with murder.

As Paul Reydash screamed about being treated like an animal...Detective Spane shouted out some of the evidence from Dr. Woods files. Paul finally calmed down and said,"What the hell do you mean...Dr. Woods...I don't even know a fucking Dr. Woods...oh...wait a minute...Dr. Woods...yeah...my ex-wife's therapist...that guy is a fucking nut case...he told her to leave me and bleach out her vagina!"

The van tires squalled as Detective Spane slammed on the brakes! He looked back at the fat...sweaty...angry accountant who was laying on the van floor and said,"You weren't a patient of his?" Paul Reydash rolled his eyes and said," No...hell no...didn't you genius cops notice something a little strange about what he had printed on his office window...how it was worded?"

Detective Spane said,"What do you mean?

Paul said,"Therapist....it reads...Dr. Kylin Woods TheRapist....the....rapist!"

Detective Spane sped to the Baker Building where Dr. Wood's office was located. He ran in the building and up to Dr. Woods office door....a note was hanging inside the window beneath," Dr. Kylin Woods TheRapist" with duct tape. The note read,"gOne fishing." It was written with a red felt tip marker.
