Augean Stables (edit)

from the ABC set Walled Garden

He presumed, should I imagine
to prepare a port poached pear,
fan spread on porcelain pearlescent;

I must have need of a task,
put away a poets mask,
occupy my febrile effervescence.

Then passed me a shovel
for spirits detumescence.

I don't think I saw the original but this is excellent. Great alliteration. Not entirely sure what it's about but feels very appropriate for the post-festivities season.

Thanks Rob and sorry, it should have been labelled 'humour' as per original posting and yes, it is about getting ones 'act' together..the pragmatic as opposed to fanciful :-) lena xx
