Over dinner you tell me all,
Bending in whispered thoughts
Sunburnt terracotta tendrils
Wilfully un-tether
Soft shining chignon
In pinned careless elegance,
Breathing dandelion laughter
Spinning, dizzy defiance
Around this crowded room
Shooing tearstain shadows
From elf-wood eyes
Glowing
Green as Gaias bounty
My young sprite
Bright first-born
With these same hands
I would gather
You to me in love
Yet
I would crush the one
That broke your heart
So soon.
