There is something sad, almost lascivious,
in the way a Lily offers her summer ruin.
Fragile pink lips curl back, proffer of stamens
heavy in pollen, before her petals drop.
Admirable admiral, you pay a courtesy visit,
last cluster of florets, galaxy bunched
on the Buddleia, your universe, for today.

A nice update on Blake's 'To see the world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower'. Captures an enormous amount in very few words. Well done! Rob
