The Man in Black

The Man in Black,
The singer that became a rebel,
The rebel that became an outlaw,
The outlaw that became a legend.

Black is his colour the only colour and the most suited,
Worn out of choice and sheer confusion.
This man an artist? Not for the look but for the sound.

That sound. His sound.
The sound they say was steady as a train,
Sharp like a razor.
The sound that brought fame, fortune and bad luck for this Man in Black.

Folsom Prison always home for this Man in Black,
When arrested he was dressed in black, going to a funeral? Maybe.
Drugs and violence took over this Man in Black, the father to blame,
More than likely.

One woman this man loved, asked for her hand more than once,
A song, a stage, a question brought the much wanted answer.
Finally.

They say this Man in Black truly saved lives with his sound,
Destroyed and rebuilt his own with it.
The Singer that became a rebel,
The rebel became an outlaw,
The outlaw that became a LEGEND.

Hi Lennie. I like the urgency in this and your passion for the Man In Black ;-).
My favourite song of the legend that is Johnny Cash has to be the cover he did of the Nine Inch Nails song Hurt
