Moving room to room
Who pleads for a want
More wanton than functioning needs,
When in the gap, if impotence
Is not impudently content,
She sits, just without compulsion
Toward one thing or the next;
Neither shy nor without heart,
Impartial, at rest,
Waiting for what is to be proven
Beyond desire's reach.
Neutral indifference,
Immune to all bias
Except knowing,
The longing,
A hankering
After the next.
