Boundaries

from the ABC set Poems

A painted leaf on a tree

the flower you sketched

I gasped, inhaled the air

in wonder at such genius

I touched the coloured texture

of the different planes

You somehow took me

put me in a world of image

And now I sense, I firmly hold

your interpretation close to me.

This is just gorgeous.

Thank you :) I don't want to give too much away about the poem, I want to see if anyone understands my intentions, so I am so glad you thought it was gorgeous, that is so cool, thank you shoe.

Yes I really like this.

Ooh, I'm going to thoroughly enjoy disecting this, Louise :)

First thing that sprung to mind was a tattoo of some sort - am I close? Have only read it twice so apologies if I'm way off the mark, will be reading it again later to try to understand your intentions better. Beautiful poem and very much enjoyed,

No it isn't about a tattoo, I can see why you think that though, the clue is in the title and the simpleness of the poem, or vagueness, not much definition, there that's too many clues :) x

Thanks for the clues! Will try again soon ;o)

I think it is something a child has modelled. I think it is great. I caught my breath along with the poet while reading it

No you are wrong, it is about someone famous :)

fatboy74 | October 29, 2010 - 11:54

Is it about the ways other people see us? Love how this works so simply and in so few words. Fab.

Louise178 | October 29, 2010 - 12:02

No ok I will spill the beans, I am doing a course at the moment and the third chapter introduces you to Paul Cezanne and I was just blown away by his pictures, and he sort of was one of the first to break the mould from a more traditional style, so I tried to bring that over with simple words and not too much definition, though most of my stuff is pretty simple anyway :)

Highhat | October 29, 2010 - 13:13

How beautiful- I would never have guessed at Cezanne but I extracted a painter from it- thought of Van Gogh but that is very mundane isn't it?

Ah, I was just going to say that, honest ;o)

Was fun analysing this, Louise, and now that you've helped us to read between the lines, I love this poem all the more :)
