Empty memories

from the ABC set Poems

Charcoal pastel
shadow faces,
smudged disfigured,
by hands, fingers of time,
looking back I find,
images have blurred,
thoughts misconstrued,
memories are untrue,
truth surprising
when corrected,
from clearer minds,
frightening scary,
that I can not
find as they do.

Sounds too, long gone,
absconded, withdrew
hollow echoes
but remain,
to sing their
melancholy
misfortune,
deep tidal sighs
heavy breathing,
slide down wooden
window sills,
glass panes hold on
wont let go,
they are lonely too.

Final thoughts,
silent sounds,
wish to depart,
escape my world,
this empty life
past and nothing
to find a world
new, fresh as a
spring rainbow.....
