Fresh and Clunky

from the ABC set Poems

Eyes convey the start of love
sparkling blue full of sky
up the rainbow
down the other side

Birmingham, Scotland,
the west, Mexico
where ever you are
I too will go
past the sun
beyond the moon

Such an easy track
as a river flows
this train will peruse
through dark tunnels
and windy stations

I'll shovel the coal
you can toot the horn
we are steaming now
just like Casey Jones..

up the rainbow
down the other side
but we must hurry
quick more coal
we only have
the rest of our lives.

I am glad it made you smile, it was meant to be humorous, though the destination part is sort of based on truth :)

"we only have
the rest of our lives."

Love that! This poem seems so genuine.
